But you loose awareness of speed, since the perception of speed suffers the more, the narrower the FOV is. If you have a small FOV (I'm talking on single screen), then you have better perception of how the car handles in relation to the tarmac, you see smaller details beside and on the track, and subtle movements by the bonnet/front when the gear negotiates the ground.
